This piece features advanced sound dampening technology and design on the inside, and a simple, elegant form on the outside highlighting the beauty and uniqueness of Deep Greene Woodworks spalting.  Each door and end panel are book matched, and the stiles between are matching spalted maple.

FLOATING WATERFALL SHELVES

Shelves are designed and built by Jeffrey Greene and are mounted to the wall with hidden hardware.

These 4” x 4” x 24” spalted maple shelves feature miter folded corners and spalted maple on all visible sides. Shelves are mounted to the wall with hidden hardware.

 

CONTEMPORARY CRAFT

After 30 years as a leading arts organization in the Pittsburgh area, Contemporary Crafts embarked on renovating an existing building in Lawrenceville as its new home. The architecture firm GBBN designed a gorgeous space that features DGW spalted maple in the reception desk and jewelry cases.

RECEPTION DESK

The reception desk is composed of several interlocking forms and features 24 linear feet of Deep Greene Woodworks spalted maple layed up in continuing bookmatch pattern. All material came from a single log. DGW spalted maple was specified by the architect and purchased by the casework contractor, Joe Kelly Furniture. The design features mitered corner details throughout.

PITTSBURGH MAGAZINE ULTIMATE HOME

Each year, Pittsburgh Magazine combs the region in search of cutting-edge, high-end construction projects that represent the “ultimate” in residential living at that moment in time. Deep Greene Woodworks was honored to have two products represented in the 2020 Ultimate Home. Shown here is a spalted maple coffee table constructed in collaboration with Temper & Grit, who fabricated the metal legs. Also featured were floating waterfall shelves designed and made by Jeffrey Greene.

ECO-CRAFT TINY HOME SILLS

Trending Tiny Homes are noted for their efficient functionality and environmental friendliness. Developer and builder, Ecocraft, specified Deep Greene Woodworks sustainable spalted maple for extended window sills and a set of 4 waterfall edge shelves.

WATERFALL TABLE

This side table was designed and built by Jeffrey Greene. It features stunning bookmatched spalted maple on the front and top with a seamless mitered waterfall edge. The front is a perfect 18” square and the top, the golden section, is 18” x 29”. It is supported at the opposite end with a single 4x4 hardwood leg.

SMALL WALL SCONCE

This spalted maple sconce was originally designed for a tea light or incense burner. But this creative piece can also be wall-mounted and fitted with LED lights on the top or bottom. The lines of the spalting and the wood grain are emphasized through the 60-degree miter fold edges.

END GRAIN INLAY

A silver maple piece with cherry burl and bookmatched end grain inlays which shows another interesting aspect of spalting and, in this case, accidentally creating a striking image of a mushroom experiencing awe!
